GC-TWIN-IMS
The GC-TWIN-IMS features a cutting-edge hybrid technology design of a Gas Chromatograph coupled with Dual-Polarity Ion Mobility Spectrometers
The unique configuration of an isothermal operated gas chromatograph applying a flow controlled capillary column plus two parallel IMS (+/-) allows the detecion of substances with differing ionization characteristics within a single measurement cycle. Both detectors share the same GC column and data acquisition runs in parallel. The physical working principle and technical configuration represents a rugged setup, broadens the range of detectable analytes and reduces cycling times, making the device especially suitable for high-throughput applications same as 24/7 online monitoring of gas feeds.
Ion mobility spectrometry (IMS) combined with gas chromatography (GC) has proven to be a powerful method for detecting volatile organic compounds (VOCs) at trace level in various applications even in comparison with conventional high-end GC-MS systems.[1]
- Positive mode: Proton-affinitive species
Aldehydes, ketones, alcohols, carboxylic acids, terpenes, amines
- Negative mode: Electrophilic species
