UV-IMS

Instead of an radioactive source the UV-IMS (UltraViolet - Ion Mobility Spectrometer) consist of an UV-lamp as ionisation source (photoionization energy of 10.6 eV).
Using the UV-IMS measurement results are obtained within seconds while detection limits typically lie in the low ppmv-, for aromatic compounds even in the ppbv-range. The modular concept and accessibility of parameters allows it to configure and fine-tune the UV-IMS according to the specific analytical application. The availability of different sample inlets (direct inlet, membrane inlet system or electrical six-port-valve with sample loop), a manual or automatic operation modes as well as the easy in use data acquisition, -analysis, and visualization software LAV describe the flexibility and make up the usefulness of the UV-IMS as analytical tool. Thus the devices can be applied for quality control, measurements of residual solvents, product or ingredients authentication, GC detector, research & development etc.
